Some of you may recognise fashion model Morgan from a number of editorial spreads and high profile advertising campaigns over the past ten years; he has even had a few cameos in some British feature films. Some of the pictures on this page were taken several years ago when Morgan was still in his twenties and when we first suggested he should take his career in a very new direction.
Broken Noses
Morgan’s early break into international modelling reads like an urban fairy tale. It was 1991, he was seventeen and training as a boxer in a South London gym when he was spotted by a talent scout for the legendary fashion photographer Bruce Weber. Within weeks he was whisked away from working on a building site to modelling for the likes of Versace, Armani and Paul Smith. He has subsequently been seen in a classic fragrance television commercial and one leading UK fashion magazine once named him their 'Man of the Year' at an awards ceremony that Morgan somehow forgot to turn up to, or was he just out with the boys that night deliberately trying to avoid it?
Diamond Geezer
Apparent indifference to such an accolade is typical of Morgan; at heart he is just an old-fashioned diamond geezer from South London who doesn't really care for the pretensions of the fashion industry and virtually dashed his own chances of international fame by declining agency invitations to move to America where his classic hunky good looks were more suited and would have taken him to dizzying heights. Morgan's reasons for not going? He preferred the company of his working class mates and besides, he had always been drawn to more dangerous and virtuous activities; he wanted to work in the rescue services…
Low Profile
Strikingly handsome with the most dramatically broken nose we have ever seen, Morgan is also dazzlingly charismatic in the flesh and we loved watching our wardrobe mistress swoon as she took his body measurements and pressed his suit. Like any true model he doesn’t have one bad angle and every angle is completely different. A tough, gentle man who is also totally at ease being naked (there doesn’t appear to be one duff inch on him) but that is not all that makes this man so unique. When he mentioned in passing that he had been turned down for an underwear commercial because his penis was too big we thought: how much luck in life can one man get?
Hat-trick
As if being a young champion boxer, a renowned model and a 'professional hero' wasn’t a good enough hat-trick to have achieved before the age of twenty-five, Morgan has always had one last surprise up his sleeve, or rather, down his trousers.
